So the video game season is upon us. It happens this way every year. Around this time, a countless array of amazing titles are unleashed. Many are lost in the fray. Today I’m going to talk about a game that could easily be overlooked by the ‘high concept’, ‘revolutionary’ hijinks of Mario Galaxy, Rock Band, Mass Effect, etc…

This game is BAGS.

The sheer audacity of building a sophisticated arcade simulation of tossing bean bags into a small wooden box with a hole in it should be applauded and rewarded with your hard earned cash. Like many classic games, BAGS is deceptively simple, yet difficult to master. There are various types of ways to toss your bag, there’s also wind speed and direction, the location of your opponent’s sack (you can take points away by knocking their sack off the box), and of course how drunk you are; all must be taken into consideration by the serious BAG player in order to achieve victory.

BAGS is quite the cultural phenomenon, the extreme underground scene has even taken to carving holes in their BAGS arcade machines (which run about 4 grand, btw), and then tossing BAGS into BAGS. Talk about a mind fuck, call Stephen Hawking before my brain melts. On top of that, the development team, Target Toss Pro I.T, is promising an array of add-ons and excitement for BAGS 2, EXTREME TOSSER. I may or may not have heard talk of super moves, the ability to bounce your bag off of onlookers, old ladies, even cars that whiz by, and power ups such as the exploding bomb bag….. :wink wink noodge noodge::
